It all began at TSL-ESCHA with the first PK push button in the mid-1980s. The Presskey push button is now available in a variety of designs. Its special feature: a one-piece housing design. The great advantage of this design is that the PK’s switching chamber is hermetically sealed. Its self-cleaning contacts and absence of moving parts make the push button wear and maintenance-free. These features are the basis for a long service life while facilitating trouble-free operation. And it keeps your costs down. As the Presskey front side has no gaps that could allow dust or water to penetrate, nothing grates or jams when the button is pressed. This allows you to use the PK push button in very different regions. For example, in regions with very frigid temperatures such as Scandinavia, Russia or Siberia, as the door opening push button is frost-proof. And thanks to being dustproof, the PK is also suitable for desert areas.
PK push buttons for every installation situation
The PK push button family offers the largest number of variations in TSL’s push button range. There are eight construction types alone. There are also various switching functions, LED colors and mounting rings, as well as a large selection of pictographs. This means that you can optimally adapt the push button to suit your vehicle and installation situation. We want to provide our customers with tailor-made products, and installation should be as simple as possible. Construction type 7 and 8 PK push buttons, for example, come with an integrated mounting aid. We have also developed a centering aid for you to protect against glass breakage caused by screws. An impact protector serves as a back side sealing element. The centering aid also facilitates mounting, which saves you time and money when installing the buttons.
The railway standard EN 14752 is complied with
Thanks to the PK Series’ modular structure, all available pictographs and tactile controls can be combined. Door opening push buttons PK23, PK28, PK41 and PKZ-028 comply with the EN 14752 standard for side entrance systems for railway vehicles. This means that the push button’s active operation surface has a minimum dimension of 30 millimeters. Touch surface and tactile symbols also protrude three millimeters and 0.5 millimeters respectively, which is especially helpful for visually impaired persons. The buttons also comply with the maximum switching force of 15 newtons required by the standard.
